Import and assign a wind turbine power curve in SAInt-GUI

This how-to-guide provides step-by-step instructions for importing a wind turbine and assigning it to a wind generator (WIND object). A long list of pre-defined wind turbine power curves from real manufacturers is available at the path C:\Documents\encoord\SAInt-v3\DataImport\WindTurbinePowerCurve.

This example is valid for AC(O)PF scenarios. Related how-to are generate wind profile and collect wind data.

1. Import a wind turbine power curve

Wind turbine power curve can be imported only in network mode. Before importing a WTPC into SAInt, make sure the template file is created in advance and saved as a .txt file. Go to the network tab and Import  Wind Turbine Power Curve to access the browser and select among the wind turbine power curve available at C:\Documents\encoord\SAInt-v3\DataImport\WindTurbinePowerCurve, as shown in Figure 1.

2. Assign a wind turbine power curve to a wind object

A wind turbine power curve can be assigned only to a WIND object after it has been imported. Open the property editor of the WIND object. In the wind turbine category, use in the property WindTurbCurveName to select the desired wind turbine power curve, as shown in Figure 2. The WindTurbCurveName property shows only the list of pre-imported wind turbine power curves. In this example, only the "Vestas_V90_3000KW" WTPC was imported.
